sidewalk chalk and bubbles

it was so nice this weekend! actually kind of hot, but that's ok. better than cold and/or rainy.

we took advantage of the nice weather and had a little outdoor fun.

the only issue with going outside...cicadas.

if you don't know what they are, you are NOT missing out. and i'm pretty sure anyone and everyone that has had to deal with them will agree. there are so many and they are so loud. and ugly. SO ugly.

luckily, we weren't attacked by any while we played with our chalk and bubbles.



doing the bubbles has been a work in progress. addison usually tries to put the bubble blower thing on her mouth, which can't taste very good. but she's been learning, and probably not enjoying that taste, and she started blowing bubbles like a big girl!







i love my timing sometimes...







i'm so glad addison loves playing outside! it's so nice sometimes to just relax and let her do her thing.

a new first...

my mom has a jeep.

she loves it.

it was actually my first car.

she bought it when i was 15 because i wanted a jeep.

and i drove it once i turned 16.

for about 2 months.

i don't know why exactly i stopped driving it, but my mom and i switched cars for some reason and i just continued to drive my mom's car.

i always had this theory that the jeep was out to kill me. the tire fell off once when i was driving, which was definitely an interesting and scary experience. and i had at least 1 flat tire while driving it for the short 2 months (there may have been another flat tire, but i can't remember).

so, my mom now drives the jeep.

she got another car after i had addison because she wanted something that she could drive addison around in.

but, addison is 2 and a half now. and she's big enough to ride in the jeep.

which, of course, i was kind of hesitant about.

yesterday, i put a carseat in it and we went for a drive.

and, duh, i took pictures.






addison loved it SO much.

she threw a huge fit when the ride was over. that made my mom extra happy.

i guess there will be lots more jeep rides in the future...

addison got this adorable minnie mouse dress for her birthday. it was a little big then, but it fits her perfectly now.




she wasn't really into the whole smiling for the camera thing. so that's the best i could do.

and since mommy was taking pictures, addison wanted to take pictures too...



this was also the first day addison wore big girl undies. she had one accident, which was right after these pictures were taken. but that was the only accident we've had, and that was 2 days ago! so today will be her 3rd day, and hopefully she'll continue to do great! she isn't sleeping in undies just because i'm not sure if she's ready for that. but during the day she's been wonderful!

elephants!!

being a member at the zoo rocks.

addison and i get in free, and we can bring a guest. fo free.

now that they're charging for parking, it's even better! we don't have to pay to park and neither does our guest.

so last week, we headed out to the zoo. and my friend jenna met us there.

let me just say, addison loves jenna. she'll ask about jenna at least once a day. and when we're with jenna, addison wants nothing to do with me.

so addison had a blast showing jenna around the zoo. it was packed though. there were a couple of schools that were there on a field trip, and then just lots more people. and it was hot.

but we made it through! i didn't take many pictures though.

jenna took these while we were walking to see the elephants and giraffes. addison was being really silly.


when we got to the elephants, they were so close!!


and as you can see, addison does love jenna. she demanded jenna carry her/hold her hand most of the day. when we left, we went to get sonic and addison wanted to sit in jenna's lap and eat.

i'm glad addison loves all of my friends and they love her too!

i've never been on any horrible dates, luckily.

hmmm. this is a hard one. maybe someone famous, just to know what it's like!

i really love cheese. i eat SO much. i think mozzarella and feta are my favorites.

of course! her name was mrs. jones. i don't remember much about the class though.

{five} who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?
i'd have to say my mom. i can call and rant with her :)

{six} were you ever in a school talent show?
nope. i don't know what i would have done in a talent show. and i probably would have been really nervous.

{seven} who is your favorite fictional character?
i really can't think of one off the top of my head.

{eight} can you open your eyes underwater?
i can, but i don't like to. i used to all the time when i was younger, but it hurts now. i do it sometimes, but not often.

{nine} do you look at the keyboard when you type?
nope. the only time i look is when i put my fingers on the keys, if that.

{ten} when was the last time you took a nap?
yesterday, actually. i seriously never nap. i always want to, but i have so much i feel like i need to get done that i never end up taking one. and i usually wake up in a bad mood because i want to sleep more. ha! but i was really tired yesterday, so i took a little nap.
