rice krispies

addison loves food.

she especially loves dessert foods.

who doesn't? well, i'm sure there are a few weirdos people that don't like dessert food.

addison love marshmallows. i actually think she has a sort of obsession with them.

which means she loves rice krisipe treats.

and she likes to help make them, too.








and what kind of cook would she be if she didn't taste what she made to make sure it was perfect??

what a walk

so, today is my first day of class. woo hoo! not.

last night, i decided to be a good student and find out where my classes are. all of mine last semester (except for my night class) were in the same building.

this semester, not so lucky.

i have 3 in the same building. but i'm taking 5 classes during the day and a night class. the other 2 are in 2 different buildings. total of 3 buildings. yippee.

oh, and the best part. i have to go all the way across campus. i think it's even further than across campus. it's like across town.

just have a look. i start down at the bottom dot and have to go to the top one. then i have to go back to the bottom one.


i really don't think the picture does it much justice. i'm really dreading it. especially since it's going to be so cold. luckily i get 15 minutes between classes, so that should be enough time to get there.

hopefully this will be a nice workout for me. with my 50 lb backpack, it definitely will be.

here's to some nicer legs, and maybe even some ankles (if you know me, you know what i mean).

wee bit wednesdays

yay! it's wee bit wednesdays! i've been missing these. and since school starts back tomorrow, you'll probably see these every wednesday because it gives me something to blog about :)

{one} have you ever been on tv?
yes. i was on tv once at a titan's game with my dad and i was also on the news during a little rally thing i was forced to go to. i didn't want anyone i knew to see me, and of course i ended up on the news (i was just walking, you probably couldn't tell it was me, but i could). and of course my dad thought it was hilarious. thanks dad!!

{two} what was the best movie you saw last year?
oh goodness. i don't even remember what movies i went to last year. i'm not really a movie theater person. hmmm. i loved easy a. i also liked megamind, little fockers, and alice in wonderland. i can't think of any other movies, but i'm sure i saw a few more. i usually only remember ones that i really didn't like. ha! and i didn't see any bad ones last year.

{three} do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
they're tucked in at the bottom, but that's it.

{four} do you cut coupons?
rarely. i should do it more often.

{five} do you ever count your steps when you walk?
occasionally. i guess if i'm really bored or something, i will. i'm weird.

{six} what sauce do you dip your chicken nuggets in?
well i'm not eating meat anymore, but i used to dip them in honey mustard, ranch, and ketchup. not at the same time, of course! i still dip my fries in those things, though, so i still get my dip fix :)

{seven} do you have any magazine subscriptions?
nope. i used to when i was younger, but i don't anymore. i don't really have time to read magazines.

{eight} when was the last time you wrote a letter on paper?
oh gosh. i have no idea.

{nine} what’s your favorite fruit pie?
i don't really like fruit pies. is that weird?

{ten} black olives or green olives?
definitely both. i LOVE olives. i ate green olives out of the jar when i was pregnant (and still do sometimes). yum!!

we had a second photoshoot that turned out much better. but it didn't start so great...






my friends maegen and maria came over to see addison and me. but mostly addison. maria is an amazing photographer, so i asked her to take pictures. and she graciously did! thanks maria :)

in order to get addison to smile, i had to bribe her with marshmellows. you gotta do what you gotta do, right?




and on another note, we got a little more snow, and school was out again today! so that mean no mdo. hopefully they'll start back next week. lucky kiddos. i wish colleges let out as easily as county schools do!!

snow day

i was kind of doubtful that we were actually going to get any snow, but we did! addison was supposed to have her first day of MDO yesterday, but that was cancelled. i kind of figured it would be because they cancel school with the drop of the smallest snowflake. the county was even out again today! luck ducks.

we went to bed sunday night (pretty late, i might add) with no snow, and woke up with about an inch (maybe an inch and a half. i don't know).

and of course we had to play in it!!

after we had breakfast, we got suited up. we don't get much snow so i don't have much snow gear. addison has a pair of snow boots and a snowsuit that my mom got her at a yard sale, so she was set. i just wore some long johns under my jeans and my old uggs and i did alright. i think i may ask for a pair of hunter boots for my birthday (which is less than a month away!!), and those will be good in the snow.

ok, back to yesterday...



addison loved it. i didn't doubt that she would. remember last year? ya, she threw a fit when she had to go inside last year. she didn't this year though, thankfully!


we tried the disc, but she wasn't a fan of it when she was on it by herself. i ended up having to ride it with her while my mom pulled us along (which was pretty funny).




my mom got on the disc with addison, too!


she even made a snow angel. she wasn't a big fan of it though. she didn't like laying down.



she was pretty tired after about 30 minutes and she told us she was "all done". she was even helped take the disc inside. so cute!



and then i snapped some pictures of the snow. you knew i would :)
