i spy a little girl who feels better

this past week while addison has been sick, the only thing she's wanted to do is watch elmo and mickey. and any movie she can name off (toy story, cars, nemo). she didn't really have much of an appetite either.

this morning, i took her to get donut holes and she inhaled them. she had probably 10.

and she didn't say mickey or elmo at all this morning! we just played with her toys and didn't have to watch tv.

can you spot her among all of her toys? i think she dumped out almost all of her baskets...



she then decided to play with mommy's purse. i told her she could play with it for a few pictures, but then i was taking it away. it's my second baby. oh, and notice the undies she has on over her pjs. those are for a teddy bear, and she decided to fit her big butt in them.


she's still a little sick, hence the snot bubble, but i think we've made it to the getting better part of the sickness. yay!


we're just going to hang out at home this weekend. we don't have any big plans or anything. hopefully addison will be able to go to school monday for the first time in a week and a half! i know we both need it!

happy birthday to...me!

i didn't really get my birthday off to a great start. addison woke up this morning around 1:30 and wanted to be held, so we went from my bed back to her bed to the chair and back to her bed. it was back a forth for a while, and then we watched some mickey around 3:30. she finally passed out around 4:30 or 5. poor girl.

this mommy is tired, but glad that addison seems to be feeling better now.

my mom went and got me a yummy birthday breakfast, and even put candles on it! how sweet!


it's supposed to snow some this afternoon and tonight, and i'm really hoping it snows enough to get me out of class tomorrow. i doubt it will though. colleges never seem to cancel class. if i have to go, it will just give me another excuse to wear my new hunter wellies!!

definitely cubed. the only crushed ice i do is from sonic. it's so good!

{two} what is your worst traffic pet peeve?
people who stay in the on ramp for as long as they can just to get 2 cars ahead. i'm pretty nice about letting people over, but those people just piss me off.

hmmmm. i don't know. since i'm at my mom's, i haven't really decorated any rooms.

{four} do you save old birthday cards?
i save some. not many.

{five} when was the last time you went on a picnic?
i don't even remember. i think it took addison to the park last summer and had a little picnic, but i'm not sure. we'll definitely have some this year when it finally warms up!

nope.

i used to go barefoot, but now i wear socks.

poker. i can catch on to most poker games. i may not be too good though!

no. i don't think i could, either.

at least it's not strep

well, addison got over her stomach bug on thursday and moved on to another sickness on saturday.

she woke up saturday with a fever, but didn't act like she felt sick. she got a little sick (not the throw-up kind, but the other kind. know what i mean??) but that only happened once, thankfully.

we went to see my granny and she ran around and played, and she took a good nap when we got home. she still had a fever, but she seemed to be ok.

after her nap, she got up and just wanted to cuddle. by that time, her fever had gotten a little worse and she was really tired. she laid on the couch until she went to bed. that is so not like her. she just laid there and watched toy story.

i put her to bed and went up to check on her and she was still hot and was having a hard time getting comfy, so i ended up letting her sleep on me in her chair. we did that for a little while, and then we went and slept in my bed. she looked so cute all cuddled up! for a small girl, she took up almost the whole bed. she did sleep pretty well, but i didn't.

she woke up again and wanted to go to her bed, so i put her in her crib and she passed out. and of course i passed out in my bed, too.

unfortunately, she decided she wanted to wake up early. i heard her cry a little around 7:15, then all i heard was "mickey mouse. mickey mouse. mickey mouse." she loves mickey mouse. and elmo. especially when she's sick.

so we got up and watched mickey mouse. she didn't really eat much, but she didn't have a fever and she played like normal. she did start having a bad cough and a runny nose.

her fever came back last night, but it wasn't as bad as it was saturday night. she didn't sleep too well, but she stayed in her bed the whole time.

i decided not to take her to mdo this morning and instead we went to the doctor. that was the 2nd time she's been in less than a week.

she didn't eat breakfast, so that was the main reason i took her. i didn't know if it was something more serious than just a little cold.

she wasn't too happy to be there because when my mom took her on thursday, she had to get a shot. the doctor today was really nice, but addison wasn't too fond of him. he did a strep test, and thankfully that came back negative.

he said that it's just a virus and that she should be progressively getting better over the next few days. we'll know she's getting better once she gets her appetite back.

hopefully she doesn't have a bad fever tonight and she'll sleep good. and maybe she'll eat lots today!

oh, and on another note, we're supposed to be getting more snow. schools are already closing early, so i'm glad i ended up not taking her to mdo!! maybe i'll get a snow day tomorrow! but i doubt it.

only 2 more days until my birthday!

6 more days...

well, addison got sick a couple more times yesterday and also this morning.

poor girl.

my mom took her to the dr today while i was in class and they think she just has a bug. she hasn't been sick since this morning, so hopefully that was the end of it. but i've said that like 100 times, so who knows.

i'm about to go get her up, and hopefully she won't, you know, get sick on me. knock on wood.

wee bit wednesdays

well, today has gone a little unplanned.

i got up and got addison and myself ready for the day, and headed to take addison to mdo. i was going to go to a convo after i dropped her off (convos are things i have to go to for school). we were about to pull in to the church and addison threw up in the car. not once, but like 3 times. maybe 4 or 5.

she didn't cry or anything. she just got sick.

i felt so bad for her because she had to ride home like that. it was nasty.

she seems to be fine now. she had a bath when we got home and then we just sat and watched tv. she has been acting like her normal self and took a good nap. hopefully it was just a little tummy ache and she won't get sick again.

now on to the regularly scheduled program. aka wee bit wednesdays!


{one} what was your favorite sitcom growing up?
i liked saved by the bell and growing pains. and lots of cartoons like rugrats and angry beavers.

{two} what song always makes you happy when you hear it?
i can't think of one right off the top of my head. anything that's from when i was a kid, like nsync or something always makes me smile, just because it's funny listening to it again. songs from glee make me happy, too :)

{three} do you still have your wisdom teeth?
nope. i got all 4 removed when i was 16. over my spring break. i'm a party animal. it was the only surgery i've had, and it wasn't bad at all. i don't remember much of that week...

{four} what is your go to way to relax?
curling up in my chair in comfy clothes with a blanket and some comfort food (pizza, mac and cheese, potato. not all at the same time, of course). and watching a good show on tv.

{five} do you play any instruments?
well, i can play joy to the world on the piano. i used to play the piano when i was younger, but stopped. and i played the flute in middle school.

{six} nude beaches: yes or no?
um...no. not unless i undergo some plastic surgery.

{seven} do you chew your pens/pencils?
sometimes. not as much as i used to. i would if i used the pens with the removable tops, but now i use the clicky pens. i would chew on them and not even realize i was doing it.

{eight} can you change the oil in your car?
nope. that's why i have my step-brother!

{nine} can you curl your tongue?
nope. i can roll it though.

{ten} can you knit or crochet?
i can knit. i taught myself a little while ago, and made a scarf. i need to start again. it was relaxing to just sit and knit.
