picnic

i'm so glad chris took vacation last week. it was so nice outside every day. this week on the other hand has been pretty cold. i don't know if we're really going to have any nice days anymore. by nice i mean not hot, but not cold. just right.

don't get me wrong, i love cold weather. i'd much rather be cold than hot any day. but i like those days where you can wear jeans and a tshirt and not get hot but not need a jacket. but like i said, i believe those days are over.


last week, i had suggested chris take addison to the park while i went to the gym. well, he didn't. but we did take her for a picnic. we went to jersey mike's and grabbed some sandwiches and headed over to the park. we have 3 parks near us, and we went to the one that was by the lake. it wasn't crowded at all, probably because it was a week day and everyone was at work.



we took a blanket for addison to sit on and some toys. chris and i just sat on the grass and watched addison play. she was more interested in the paper bags our sandwiches were in than her toys. but that's ok. she was happy. it was kind of bright outside, but we had her facing away from the sun. i think she had a pretty good time. it was her first picnic.


we went pretty close to her nap time, and i think she was about to fall asleep on her blanket towards the end. once we finished (and by that i mean once i finished because i'm a slow eater) we packed up and headed home.


it was really nice to take her because it's so easy to do and she likes it. maybe we'll randomly have a nice day soon and i can take her again.
